We Re_start from the body. The body is the core of everything.

Balletto Civile is committed to re-think its language without renouncing to establish a deep relationship between bodies, voices and space. The workshop aims to be an educational and creative training within the research process of the dance company. The objective is to give priority to the physical urgency by awakening the ability of listening to the each other.
The objective of our pedagogical approach, from dance to the physical actions, from the singing in action to the spoken word, is to improve the stage presence and to develop a transparent intelligence, which will put the dancer/actor in the position to reach a greater understanding for the concept of a total theatre and the development of a personal dramaturgical project. To make our body aware means to have direct access to the sources of our creativity towards the language of an authentic physical theatre.
Balletto Civile's creation methodology will therefore represent the common ground of discussion and allow participants to acquire the tools to enhance their creativity and to train it to be part of a collective project.
This workshop is the third of a cycle. It is not necessary to attend each stage and none of the appointments is preparatory to the others. By participating in more than one weekend you will have access to discounts.

Who does it interest?
Professional dancers and vocational dance students.
The choreographer will select the participants on the basis of their curricula.

Michela Lucenti
Michela Lucenti becomes acquainted with the work of Pina Bausch's company thanks to her dancers Beatrice Libonati and Jan Minarik. She attends the Scuola del Teatro Stabile di Genova and at the same time she gets to know the last phase of Jerzy Grotowski's research work through the teachings of Thomas Richards. In 2003, as a natural continuation of the experience of L'IMPASTO Comunità Teatrale Nomade, she founds Balletto Civile, a nomadic artistic project animated by a strong ethical tension. The team aims to create a unified work of art, in which different elements work together, privileging the interaction between theatre, dance, original live singing and as well as a deep relationship between the performers.
